IMPORTANT: Read this disclaimer carefully before using or relying on any information about the GAPR device. This device is currently in development and is not available for purchase or clinical use.

1. Not a Medical Device

The GAPR knee brace is a general wellness and fitness product. It is not a medical device as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

GAPR, Inc. makes no medical claims about the device. Any references to joint support, stability, or performance on this website are general and non-medical in nature.

This device has not received FDA clearance or approval. While we are pursuing an FDA-compliant development path, regulatory authorization has not been obtained at this time.

2. Not Medical Advice

Nothing on this website, in any GAPR materials, or from any GAPR representative constitutes medical advice. The information provided is for general informational and educational purposes only.

Always consult a licensed healthcare provider before using any new health or wellness device, especially if you have a pre-existing injury, medical condition, or concern related to your knee or musculoskeletal health.

3. No Clinical Studies — General Wellness Use Only

GAPR, Inc. has not yet conducted or sponsored clinical trials or peer-reviewed studies substantiating specific health outcomes from use of this device. The GAPR device is currently designed and marketed as a consumer health and fitness product.

We make no representations or warranties about outcomes. We do not claim the device will:

  • Reduce pain or inflammation
  • Accelerate recovery from injury or surgery
  • Replace physical therapy or clinical treatment
  • Produce any specific measurable health outcome

Individual results will vary. What works for one person may not work for another.

4. Known Risks

Use of a knee brace device involves real risks, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Pain, soreness, or discomfort
  • Skin irritation, bruising, or pressure damage
  • Reduced circulation from improper fit or excessive tightness
  • Numbness or tingling (nerve-related effects)
  • Worsening of an existing injury if misused
  • Loss of balance or mobility
  • Delayed proper medical treatment if used as a substitute for professional care

These risks may occur even with careful use. Users assume full responsibility for how they use the device and how their body responds.

5. Do Not Use Without Healthcare Provider Approval If You Have

  • Recent knee surgery or a healing surgical site
  • Severe ligament, tendon, or joint injuries
  • Circulatory problems, including poor blood flow or vascular disease
  • Nerve damage or reduced sensation in the leg
  • History of blood clots (DVT)
  • Significant swelling or inflammation
  • Any condition where pressure on the knee may cause harm

If you have any of the above conditions and choose to use the device without consulting a healthcare professional, you do so at your own risk.

6. No Guarantees or Warranties

The GAPR device and all related information are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. GAPR, Inc. makes no guarantees regarding safety, effectiveness, or results from use of this device.

7. Product Development Status & Availability

The GAPR device is in an active research and development phase. GAPR, Inc. is pursuing NSF SBIR funding to conduct feasibility and performance studies.

The device is currently available on a limited basis to founding customers only. Founding customers receive the device directly from the GAPR team, participate in structured feedback, and are required to sign a participation waiver before use. The device is not available for general retail purchase at this time.

Specifications, features, and design described on this website are subject to change as development progresses. Purchase of a founding customer unit does not constitute a guarantee of any specific future features, clinical outcomes, or product availability.

8. Intellectual Property Notice

All technology, designs, and content described on this website are the proprietary intellectual property of GAPR, Inc. The GAPR joint separation mechanism is protected under Patent Application #19/215,096. Unauthorized reproduction, reverse engineering, or commercial use of any described technology is prohibited.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GAPR, Inc., its founders, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to your use of, or reliance on, information presented on this website or related to the GAPR device.

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
